How Liverpool’s clash against Arsenal went down
Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring after 3 minutes and 27 seconds becoming the fastest player to score for for Mikel Arteta’s men at Anfield.
Gabriel headed home Martin Odegaard’s cross in the opening minutes of the game before Mohamed Salah equalised for the hosts.
Both teams had chances to win the game in the second half as the intensity of the match increased but neither side could grab a winner, Arsenal FC reported.
“It was an unbelievable game of football, one of the most intense and hectic games that I have witnessed in 20 years in this league. The quality, the intentions of both teams… It was superb to watch it and we as a team with the boys willing to play at that level, to have the courage to play at that level, the determination and belief to do what we’ve done here, I think my players deserve big,” said Arteta.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are 1 point behind the Gunners, who boast 40 points after playing 18 matches – winning 12, drawing 4 and losing 2.
Liverpool have also played 18 games, winning 11, drawing 6 and losing one, a fit that Mo Salah hopes can be a game-changer.
