Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta has been subjected to defeat following Sunday, January 7, 2-0 match against Jurgen Klopp’s side Liverpool.

Liverpool showed dubious form in the first half before displaying a magnificent show in the second half of the play.

The Gunners dominated the first of the game where they created good chances but they seemed to have been missing a killer instinct which resulted in a level at half-time with Liverpool, Telegraph reported.

Arsenal out of FA competition for second round

Jakub Kiwior scored an own goal at 80 minutes of the play to break the impasse after a beautiful free-kick from opponent side, Trent Alexander Arnold.

After a sensational forward movement by Klopps’ side in the added minutes of the play, 95, The Reds forward,Luis Diaz, overpowered Arsenal keeper, Aaron Ramsdale, after his counterpart Diogo Jota rolled the ball to him, an episode confirming that Artetas’ Arsenal are out of FA competition.

In attendance Arsenal fans in Emirates Stadium could not hold back their murmuring of boos when the final whistle was blown, a chilling message that they were not happy with their players’ performance.

Van Dijik, Salah misses Liverppol match

Liverpool Captain, Virgil Van Dijk, was absent because of injury together with his colleague star man, Mohamed Salah, who recently jetted off to Ivory Coast to represent Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Trent Alexander Arnold who wore the armband gave his thoughts about the match

“Huge win, lot of injuries, great to win. We were a bit naive in the first half, they had chances from our sloppy mistakes. They are a high-pressing team. We wanted to play to our strength and identity. We mixed it up. Cody went down the centre and we were able to use our pace down the sides. With the in swinger you want to hit it as well as possible. You want to make it as hard as possible for them to clear .” Trent spoke to BBC.

Arsenal have now gone out in FA competition for the second season in a row with the first coming when Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola knocked them out in the fourth round of that campaign.

Mikel Artetas’ sentiments on a new striker as part of January window plans.

” At the moment it doest look realistic, my job is to improve the players we have,” He told BeIN Sports .
