Inter Miami chief David Beckham has contacted Real Madrid to
ask about the availability of their forward James Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, 28, barely featured this season, scoring just one
La Liga goal.
Mirror sports report that the Colombian is not thought to be
in Zinedine Zidane’s plans.
Rodriguez contract is due to expire next June and Madrid are
desperate to sell him to recoup some of the £63m they splashed out on the
player in 2014.
Miami lost their first two games of the MLS season before
football was suspended amid the coronavirus crisis, and Beckham is aware of the
need to bring in some new players.
However, there is stiff competition from the likes of
Arsenal and Everton, who have also been linked with a move for the forward.
Colombia legend and former Newcastle forward Faustino
Asprilla, meanwhile, recently urged James to seek a move to Beckham’s former
club Manchester United.
” Manchester United would be a good place for
James,” Asprilla told Blu Radio.
“It’s been a while since they have been winning
trophies and they are thinking about strengthening the team for next season.
