Green Commandos are set to host training camps for talented
players in Nairobi and Kakamega Counties.
The event coordinator Isaac Kwoba said on Friday that the camp will host talented players of basketball, swimming and football.
Kwoba, who is also a former player of Green Commandos, added
that the camp hosted at Upper Hill and public service club Nairobi from
November 28 – December 20.
“On November 25-27 we will be privileged to have Polish
under 23 national coach Marek Dragosz lead and conduct football trainings for
the players and coaches registered Nairobi camp before he proceeds to Kakamega
for another three day football camp from November 20,” said Mr. Kwoba.
He added that the event will open doors to talented players
in the country as it will attract even foreign stakeholders
“We are receiving a
lot of requests from various and interested individuals right from across the
country and also foreign countries as we expect to have a major soccer camp in
the country, which will open doors for our players,” he added
“As Green Commandos we are working out on putting up good
structures in place as our long term soccer investments hence need to partner with
likeminded colleagues as we strive to take local soccer to great level.”
“It’s through these kind of programs that opens doors to our
talented players in top leagues in Europe and other regions that’s why we want
to build as many contacts and create platform for exposure for our youths.
According to Mr. Kwoba, they hosted a similar event in August
which opened opportunities for four players now training under youth programs
of La Liga clubs in Spain.
“In our earlier camp that was hosted in August this year
under the three coaches from Spain were managed to secure opportunities for
four players who are currently under youth programs of big clubs in Spain,”
said Kwoba.
