Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the permanent manger of Manchester United
on a three-year contract.
The former Man U striker took over as the caretaker
manager of the club in December after the dismissal of Jose Morinho.
The impressive results of the club under his leadership have granted
him his new role at Old Trafford as the permanent manager.
Under Solskjaer, Machester United have won 14 matches out of 19 getting it back into the race of the top four.
Solskjaer said, “From the first day I arrived, I felt at
home at this special club.”
The Norwegian added that “It was an honor to be a
Manchester United player, and then to start my coaching career here. The last
few months have been a fantastic experience and I want to thank all of the
coaches, players and staff for the work we’ve done so far.”
He continued to say that is an honor for him to have played
for Manchester United then started his coaching career with the same club.
It has been a stellar three months in charge in which the club has gone through leaps and bounds to reach the top five
Ole as he popularly called by the United faithful’s has seen a tremendous improvement in the league as well as mounting a comeback in the Champions league round of 16 in which United overturned a first leg defeat of two goals to set up a quarter final tie against Barcelona.
Upon his appointment United have enjoyed a 12 match winning streak and also overhauled an eleven points gap to close on the champions league positions.
United currently sit fifth two points adrift Arsenal who are in the fourth place courtesy of Ole’s first loss as a manager in the premier league.
Ole Gunnar thanked his players, coaches and staff who have helped him mastermind the incredible turnaround of fortunes at the club.
Ed Woodward, Manchester United Chairman, also handed his input upon the appointment of Ole Gunnar.
The chair said that the results and atmosphere that that the newly appointed manager has brought to the club speak for themselves and its pretty an exciting time at the club while Ole’s at the wheel.
United will be hosting Watford on Saturday at The Theatre of Dreams, Ole Gunnar first match as United’s permanent manager.
