The Kenya Rugby men’s national sevens team, Shujaa, have
dropped to position 12 of the HSBC Sevens World Series, after the sixth round
of the 2019/2020 at the Canada Sevens.
The completion, which was held at the B.C Place in
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada last weekend, saw Shujaa collected 6 points
after exiting the tournament at the 9th place semifinal stage, going down 12-7
to Scotland.
This comes after Kenya 7s overwhelming performance following
a 28-0 win against Wales in the 9th place quarterfinal.
Earlier, the team failed to qualify for the cup competition,
finishing at the bottom of Pool C after losing 29-0 to New Zealand, 14-12 to
Ireland and 17-14 to Spain.
The Competition is left with four rounds, as Shujaa stands
at position 12 overall with 35 points.
All teams participating in the Series will receive
competition points according to their ranking at the end of each tournament.
The overall winner of the Series will be determined by the
team with the most points as set out in the Series table
