Charlie Nicholas, a legend player at Arsenal, is unsure whether
Granit Xhaka will play again following an apology latter sent to fans.

According to Mirror Sports, the former Celtic and Arsenal player
believes Xhaka is still haunted by fans reactions following Sunday incident
that saw him react rudely to a substitution during the 2-2 draw match with
Crystal Palace.

“I don’t know if he will ever play again, to be honest. I
don’t see it. I don’t think there is any chance of him playing [against
Wolves]. If he does, it may be in the Europa League game next week,” said Nicholas.

Nicholas added that the clash with fans has carried away his zeal
and he won’t be able to play at his best again.

“But I don’t see he would be that interested in playing the
way he feels at the moment.”

Even though the Arsenal captain has expressed his feelings,
offering an apology and hoping for a mutual respect, Nicholas believes it is
time for him to say ‘it is time’ at Arsenal.

“If he is still angry and upset by the fans and the situation, I
think he could say ‘it is time for me to move on,” added Nicholas.

The 27-year-old Swiss international has been at Arsenal for a few strenuous-years
with unfruitful seasons.

“He is 27, he has been at the club for a few years and it has
not been the most successful period. There has been stress and strain and at
the moment, he is part of the major that,” said Nicholas.

Pressure is mounted to Unai Emery to announce whether Xhaka will
retain the armband in th coming weeks following his letter, but the manager is
still discrete on the issue.
