Jubilee Party Majority Leader Ben Washiali has been told off by Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli following remarks he made over Rashid Echesa’s sacking.
Speaking on Sunday, Atwoli said Jubilee leaders who led campaigns in Western misled the President.
“Washiali and others who led Jubilee campaigns in Western should be ashamed for misleading the President,” said Atwoli.
He dared the majority whip to resign if he thinks that the decision President Uhuru Kenyatta made last week over former sports CS sacking was wrong.
“If Washiali is man enough, let him quit his Majority Whip position in protest over the sacking of Echesa. ,” he said.
On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta made mini changes to his cabinet, which saw Rashid Echesa, former sports CS, sacked as Amina Mohammed takes over.
The move caused mixed reactions from Western leaders saying that the president’s move is a blow to the region.
On Sunday, Ford Kenya leader Moses Westangula said the President ought to have chosen Echesa’s successor from Western.
‘”Sacking of Echesa is an affair of Jubilee which we are not party to it and the president can hire and fire his minister but if you sack one from our region replace with someone from our land’’
Wetangula was speaking in Funyula Constituency during the burial of the son of his aide Chris Mandu Mandu at Namuduru.
