President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent take on the fight against corruption has led to his social accounts frozen.
His recent post on Twitter was that, “If you are corrupt we
will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest ally. I wont
be clouded by ethnicity or status…”
According to State House Chief of Staff, Nzioka Waita, the president’s
social media accounts have been suspended temporarily.
He said, “ On account of unauthorized access to the official
social media handles H.E the President of the Republic of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta,
all official social media handles for the president have been temporarily suspended
to allow for the necessary remedial measures to be undertaken.
This decision has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans online
with some posting hilarious comments while others questioning the real reasons
behind deactivating the accounts. .
