Kipipiri Member of Parliament Amos Kimunya has expressed his
gratitude to President Uhuru Kenyatta following his appointment the National
Assembly Majority Leader.

Speaking on Monday after the Parliamentary Group meeting
held at KICC Nairobi, Mr. Kimunya said it is a humbling appointment which he
won’t take lightly.

“I want to thank the President, who is also the party leader,
for proposing me to take over as the new national assembly majority leader for
the next 2 years.

Honourable Kimunya applauded his predecessor Aden Duale for
his dedication and commitment in serving the party for the past 8 years.

“The outcome of the meeting was change in party leadership.
I do not take this appointment lightly; it is an honour. I appreciate the
dedicated service Hon. Duale has rendered to this country, I know his
commitment,” said Kimunya.

The PG meeting also saw Aden Keynan appointed as the new
Coalition Secretary.

The changes were read out by Jubilee Majority Whip Emmanuel
Wangwe in the presence President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

However, MPs loyal to the DP went missing.

Aden Duale’s ouster comes after a petition from more than
130 MPs accused him of sabotaging the Jubilee agenda.

Meanwhile, the fate of those who missed out on the Monday PG
meeting is clearly defined as the party continues to effect changes.

On Sunday, Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe issued
a stun warning to members if they fail to attend the meeting.

“Missing the PG meeting should not come to anyone’s mind.
Disciplinary actions is crystal clear in Jubilee Party Act to those who are
deviating from fundamental requirements of the party,” Murathe wrote on his
Facebook page.

It is barely a month after 16 MPs were de-whipped over dishonesty
in the party.
