Kiambu Governr James Nyoro has fulfilled County Speaker
Stephene Ndichu’s call on the Deputy Governor’s nominations.
This came true on Wednesday following Nyoro’s reshuffles in
his administarion.
The Governor nominated Joyce Wanjiku Ngugi, the widow to
former Gatundu South MP Joseph Ngugi, as his deputy.
He also made several reshuffles to his cabinet.
This comes barely a months after Mr.Nyoro was sworn in as
the Kiambu County governor, after serving in an acting capacity as Kiambu
county boss following his former boss Ferdinand Waititu impeachment.
Waititu was suspended by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption
Commission (EACC) court over a corruption case and later impeached by ward reps
and the Senate.
Kiambu County Assembly Speaker Stephen Ndichu, soon after
the swearing in of Nyoro as Governor, led other leaders in advocating for a
female DG.
“The position of the deputy governor is now vacant and it is
open to anybody, I have talked to the governor and he has told me that he has
no problem nominating a lady,” said Mr Ndichu in a past event.
