Jubilee party has accepted the proposed list of new Nairobi
County Majority leader and whip, following the chaotic move by a section of
MCAs.

In a press statement sent to news room, party Secretary
General Raphael Tuju said it is not in order for the party to interfere with
the affairs of the MCAs, unless where necessary, but following the chaotic move
by MCAs, the party is ‘compelled to respond’.

“Cognisant of standing order number 20 which requires the
party to designate the majority leadership in the assembly, we are therefore
compelled to respond to your letter,” said Tuju.

Tuju confirmed that the party received letters from the
county speaker Beatrice Elachi and Gover Mike Sonko, and was shocked to see
MCAs resort to violence before solving
the matter.

The SG approved names of four MCAs, as proposed by Speaker
Elachi, to be in the acting position until further notice.

The four include Hon. Charles Thuo Wakalindi (Dandora Area
iii ward) as the Majority Leader, Hon. Millicent Wambui Mugadi (Ziwani Karioko)
to be Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Juliet June Ndegwa (Nominated) as Majority
Whip and Hon. Hassan Abdikadir Mohamed as the Deputy Majority Whip.

Abdi Guyo, the Matopeni ward MCA, has been on locker head
with other MCAs and the county chief, prompting his ouster.

Governor Mike Sonko wrote to Jubilee Party Secretary General
Raphael Tuju to replace Mr Guyo with Hamza Maringo ward MCA Mark Ndung’u, in October
this year.
