A week after President Uhuru Kenyatta axed Elgeyo Marakwet
Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his Nakuru counterpart Susan Kihiga from house
leadership, a number of other senators who missed out last week parliamentary
group sitting face ouster from house leadership.

Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kangata is today (Monday) drafting
a motion that will Senate deputy speaker Kithure Kindiki recalled from the
position.

In an interview on Sunday, Kang’ata said the Tharaka Nithi
Senator ought to explain why he missed out on the parliamentary group meeting
held last week.

“Tomorrow I will be drafting a motion that will be taken to
the senate on Tuesday to recall deputy speaker… This will now be upon the House
Business Committee. The move is because he has not given reasons why he did not
attend the pg meeting,” said Kangata.

The majority whip said he will table the motion on Tuesday.

According to Citizen TV, Uasin Gishu Senator Margret Kamar
could be the Jubilee Party’s choice for the deputy speaker post.

Other on the watch include Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey,
who is on the chopping board as the chair of the Senate Legal Affairs
committee.

Laikipia Senator John Kinyua, who also chairs the Senate
Devolution Committee, is also targeted for ouster over loyalty questions.

Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga could also be recalled
from the powerful Senate Public Accounts Committee where she is a member, after
missing out on the State House meeting.

Mandera Senator Mohamed Mohamud, who chairs the crucial Finance
Committee of the Senate, is also on the watch list of the new leadership.

Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka is yet to recall the recall
letters of each and every senator mentioned in Kangata’s list on Monday.
