The registrar of political parties Anne Nderitu has declined
to endorse changes in the Ford Kenya Party leadership.

Ms. Nderitu has instead called on the party leaders to solve
wrangles internally.

Ford Kenya Secretary General Eseli
Simiyu and new party leader Wafula Wamunyinyi early Tuesday presented documents
effecting changes of leadership in the Party as ratified by the Party’s
bona-fide and LEGAL NEC members.

This comes after Dr. Simiyu outed
senator Wetangula as party leader, citing gross misconduct and failure to lead
the party in right direction.

We want to take away the party from cartels, to strengthen
it and take it to the people. We have already filed our documents at the
registrar of political parties, and she acknowledged all the documents were
proper,” said Hon. Wamunyinyi at an interview with NTV after submitting the
documents.

Dr. Simiyu said he is confidence that they had adhered with
all the regulations required for the transition.

“As Secretary-General I followed all the laws and
regulations that needed to be followed to be able to file our returns with the
Registrar which by the grace of God we were able to file this morning,” said
Simiyu.

However, Senator Wetangula maintains that he is still the
legal Ford Kenya party leader

The Bungoma senator said his removal over the weekend lacked
legal framework, terming it null and void.
