President has appointed the outgoing Inspector General of
Police Joseph Boinnet as the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry
of Tourism and Wildlife.
To replace him, Uhuru
has nominated Hilary Mutyambai to be the next Inspector General as Boinnet’’s four-year
tenure ends. Mutyambai is the Deputy Director of Counter Terrorism Coordination
at the National Intelligence Service.
Mutyambai has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s of Arts degree in National Security Policy from the Australian National University.
He has extensive experience on security issues and has undergone special training on counter terrorism and advanced security in the U.S, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism in Israel, and Operational Management in the United Kingdom and Policing.
The President also made other appointments. He appointed
Wycliffe Ogalo as the Commissioner General Kenya Prisons Service, Brigadier
John Migui Waweru as the Director General Kenya Wildlife Service, and Brigadier
Vincent Naisho Loonena as the Director General of Kenya Coast Guard Service.
The nominated I.G will be vetted by the National Assembly’s security committee to determine his
capability to get the job done at the inspector general’s office.
