Nairobi, Kenya – Police in Roysambu, Nairobi County, are investigating the controversial murder of yet another woman found dead in an Airbnb facility.
After roughly one week of departed Starlet Wahu’s controversial and shocking story, an outrageous story popped up again on Sunday 14th 2024 in Roysambu, Nairobi, where the body of an undisclosed woman was discovered on the premises.
According to Risper Muthoni, the manager of Airbnb property, the unspeakable episode occurred when the male guest who had booked the room gave back the key early on before disappearing into the air.
Risper stated that the male guest checked into the premises at 3 pm on Saturday, January 13, and proceeded to the room he had booked – the same room where the body of the unidentified woman was found with limbs cut off.
“Once guests check into the premises, they enjoy all the privileges and interference or interruption is not one of them until the checkout time arrives is when the house managers will go knocking on the doors, indicating it is time to leave the room,” Risper Muthoni’s told the press.
On Sunday morning, the caretaker found polythene bags and a blood-soaked bed sheet on the staircase, something he developed a distrust of, raising an alarm.
A series of failed attempts was made by Risper together with her team to get a response from inside, they accessed the unlocked room only to find blood stains at the door and later reported the matter to Kasarani police station.
The prime suspect’s identity together with CCTV footage showing where he picked the premises key which was just nearby, was given to the police.
The Head of Kasarani Divisional Criminal Investigations, Jimmy Kimari warned that soon there is going be a rollout of a series of severe measures to restrict Airbnb operators who unfortunately do not have security cameras installed.
Jimmy Kimari who was also present in the scene where the dismembered body of a woman was discovered, called for recording keeping of all guests coming to book premises.
Starlet Wahu body discovered in Airbnb facility
A week ago, the body of a Nairobi socialite Starlet Wahu Mwangi was discovered in an Airbnb in the city and taken to City Mortuary.
CCTV footage revealed she checked into the Airbnb with a man on January 3 and they seemed right.
A postmortem done on the deceased revealed she was stubbed on the head and there was a deep-cut wound on her thigh that caused her to bleed to death.
A security guard at the Airbnb raised alarm the following day when he saw the man Wahu was with the previous day leaving wearing bloody clothes.
The guard alerted the property owner who used a spare key to enter the Airbnb where they found Wahu’s lifeless body in the sitting room and contacted the police.
