Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich is expected to appear before the Director of Criminal Investigation for a second grilling today.

The CS was yesterday grilled for 12 hours at the DCI headquaters over the brewing Kimwarer and Arror Dam scandal in Elgeyo Marakwet.

The detectives sought to know why Treasury released the money without designs and Bill of Quantity.

There were also questions on whether due diligence was done on the projects.

They also asked the CS why he went against the advise of the Attorney General and signed a deal with a company that is now grappling with financial difficulties.

Reports also reveals that the treasury wrote to Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and National Land Commission (NLC) to facilitate land settlement for the dam projects.

Officials from both KFS and NLC were earlier questioned, with the former declining to surrender their land.

Rotich grilling comes in the wake of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s stance in the fight against corruption.

Speaking during the ongoing devolution conference in Kirinyaga, President Uhuru reiterated that no one, including himself, would be spared in the ongoing war against corruption.

The CS is until now the highest ranked cabinet official to be grilled over corruption by the DCI.
