Most vulnerable persons have received foodstuffs in Kisii county
during this difficult time of Covid-19

Speaking during the donation Woman representative Janet Ongera
said that the move is to assist those who are vulnerable to feel the spirit of brotherhood during the Coronavirus
pandemic.

“This is the time to show love and share the food to those who are don’t have,” the woman
rep said.

Some of the items donated include sugar, rice, a bar of
soap, flour and face masks.

She said the exercise will be expanded in coming days as
part of cushioning the vulnerable in the society.

Those who live in abject poverty will be brought on board
irrespective of their tribal, social and political inclination.

According to Ongera, it is important to help those who can’t
sustain these tough economic times.

However, she was worried on the low number of registered
groups which are benefiting from National affirmative action Funds.

She asked women to register and form Saccos so that they can
benefit from the National affirmative action funds.

Ms. Ongera assured them that when the country will stabilize
she is going to carry out civic education from one household to another and ensure
that everyone is registered.

She asked business people to wear face masks, keep social distance,
adhere to government regulations including the use of hand sanitizers and hand
wash.

The donation was in conjunction with CS Fred Matiang’i
directives.

The Women Rep asked the public to take more precautions and work
together to combat this pandemic.

She also donated hand washing equipment as a measure to curb
the Coronavirus pandemic.
