Sometimes it is said laziness is craziness. Well, you will
prove this true following this fraudulent story from Uganda.
Kobe Bryant was a legend and a hero in the eyes of many
across the world, and no one would want to miss his final send-off.
To this, Ugandans were caught unaware with fake promises
from a man identified as Mufere Musoke, that they will get US visas to attend
Bryant burial.
“Free Visas for those
who want to go to the US to burry our hero, Bryant (sic), call 078…..’’ read
part of a message from Musoke to Ugandans.
Luckily, Ugandan police seized Musoke and discovered 100
million shillings, the amount he acquired from Ugandans promising them visas to
the United States to burry Kobe Bryant.
It is reported that he convinced his victims that the
embassy would be sympathetic and would grant those visas, only if their main reason
for travel was to bury basketball icon, Kobe Bryant.
A few moments after the news broke out, Mufere Musoke went
to Nasser road and printed out posters, writes Kampala Daily News.
The victims have confirmed that Musoke asked them to pay a
consultation fee of 50,000 shillings via Mobile Money transfer, to facilitate
their connection to the US Embassy.
Kobe and his Daughter Gianna along with seven other people
died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning.
Kobe played for the LA Lakers for twenty seasons before he
retired recently in 2016.a
