Mandera County Governor Ali Roba on Wednesday made changes
to the County Executive Committee, that saw two County Executive Committee
(CEC) members relieved off their duties.
According to a press statement send to News room, Governor
Roba said Abdiaziz Sheikh Maad CEC for Trade, Industrialization and Cooperatives,
Mrs. Johora Abdi of Agriculture Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation and Dr.
Shamsa Mohammed of Gender and Social Services are relieved off their duties.
“I have also relieved Chief Officer Health Services
Hassan Mohamed Ahmed of his duties. Dr. Mohamed Adan has been reinstated as
CECM in charge of Health Services and will also act as Trade, Industrialization
and Cooperatives CECM until new appointments are made and vetted by the County
Assembly,” said the Governor.
The county boss appointed Mr. Mohamed Omar as the acting
CECM for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Irrigation.
The Public Service CECM Ahmed Sheikh will act as minister in
charge of Gender and Social Services as well overseeing his docket.
The Agriculture County Chief Officer Abukar Abdi Sheikh will
act as Chief Officer Medical services.
“The changes take effect immediately and handing over
and take over to take place presided over by County Secretary Abdinur Maalim
Hussein,” he added.
Governor Roba said that the changes are aimed at improving
service delivery and to strengthen my administration’s focus on legacy projects
that impact lives positively.
