Form 1 learners are expected to report to their various schools on January 15, 2024 following the completion of the placement process.
Speaking during the release of Form 1 placement results at Lenana School, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu said,
“The government upholds its commitment to providing Free Day Secondary Education grants per learner, which include allocations for tuition and operational expenses.”
He added,
“I wish to state that the boarding fees charged in public secondary schools will remain unchanged in 2024. Schools will continue to receive funds based on accurate enrolment data submitted by principals through NEMIS.”
Machogu also said 14,426 elimu scholarships will be awarded this year to needy KCPE candidates, adding that 37,574 scholarships have been awarded to vulnerable students across the country so far.
297 candidates from vulnerable backgrounds have been placed in national and extra county schools.
Those who attained 400 marks and above have been placed in national and extra county schools.
42,927 secured placement in national schools while 274,746 in extra county schools and 288,201 in county schools.
