The marketing and innovations director of East African Breweries Limited (EABL) Anne Joy Michira is set to leave the company for Diageo.
Michira will serve in the same position at Diageo as the marketing and innovations director for the entity’s South, West, and Central Africa (SWC) region starting April 1, 2024.
Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) Managing Director Mark Ocitti Ongom expressed confidence in Michira’s abilities saying,

She has nearly 20 years of expertise in trade and marketing and will serve in Diageo’s newly established SWC business unit covering Southern Africa, the Indian Ocean, West Africa, and Central Africa.
Who is Ann Joy Michira?
Ann Joy Michira’s impressive career journey began in 2015 when she joined EABL from British American Tobacco (BAT).
She has held vital roles over the years from marketing manager for Mainstream Spirits to head of marketing Beer for East Africa.
In her current role as the marketing and innovations director at EABL, she has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives, including the development of a captivating range of ciders.
Her work on marketing Senator earned EABL its first-ever Cannes Lion award. Her contributions to revitalizing iconic beer brands like Tusker and Pilsner have also made quite an impression on her career path.
