Namibia President Hage Geingob has died at the age of of 82 years.
Geingob succumbed to cancer after he was diagnosed with the disease in January 2024.
“At this moment of deepest sorrow [following the death of President of Namibia Dr. Hage Geingob], I appeal to the nation to remain calm and collected while the Government attends to all necessary state arrangements, preparations and other protocols,” Ag. president Mbumba said.
His vice president Nangolo Mbumba, was sworn in as the fourth President of Namibia in an acting capacity.
