After the Directorate of Criminal Investigation found the
body of the Dutch Billionaire Tob Cohen in a septic tank in his home in
Kitiisuru, his burial will be on Monday September 23, 2019 at a Jewish cemetery.
Lawyers representing Cohen’s sister Gabrielle Van Straten and
Sarah Wairimu said the two sides have agreed on the funeral arrangements. However,
they insisted that the burial can only happen after getting a court order.
They stated that, “The burial ceremony will be private and
for family members only. Sarah and Gabrielle will participate…”
This happens after the medics performed a postmortem on the
deceased. Earlier this week, Cohen’s wife Sarah Wairimu asked the court that she
be the one to bury her husband’s remains and not his sister who is in the country.
Wairimu was arrested for the murder of Cohen whose body was
found in a sorry state with a rope around his neck and his legs and hands bound.
The court denied her bail and she is detained at Lang’ata Women’s Prison.
Cohen went missing on July 19, and his remains were found 43
days later in a septic tank.
