A passenger at JKIA on a flight to Johannesburg has been arrested
for causing a bomb scare in one of KQ’s aircrafts.
KQ 762 was to take off to OR-Tambo International Airport in
Johannesburg Wednesday afternoon when a male passenger caused panic.
It is reported that a man got into an argument with a flight
attendant and mentioned the word bomb at some point.The management at JKIA
suspended flights to conduct security checks.
A statement issued by Kenya airways read, “At approximately
1300GMT today Kenya Airways was notified of a possible bomb threat in one of
our flights. ….. All the passengers disembarked for security re-screening and
the aircraft is undergoing extensive security checks.”
The passenger in question was handed over to the Anti-terror
Police Unit for further probe into the incident.
