March 8 should not be the only day
women and womanhood is celebrated. It should be done each and every day.
Women are an important part of our
lives, whether mother, sister, friend they play their roles well.
A woman is a super human in every
way. When growing up, we are taught that being strong is what defines you as a
woman.
A lot of things will be thrown at
you; what matters is how you handle the issue at hand.
The greatest achievement being
celebrated is how far women have come. They have risen and made strides in a
society that has always been patriarchal in nature.
See, in the past, women were
considered to have a sit only in the kitchen and not anywhere else. In the
recent days, we have seen women rise to become CEOs. Own businesses, hold
places in the board meetings and do more.
This is what we celebrate during
Women’s Day. That women can be able to still run their businesses, be career
women and be mothers at the same time.
They can get elected to parliament
just as men, because they are educationally empowered.
It is because they dared to dream,
they dared to risk it all so as to change the place of a woman in the society.
We celebrate them every other day.
“Women have always been the strong ones of the world. The men are
always seeking from women a little pillow to put their heads down on. They are
always longing for the mother who held them as infants.” – Coco
Chanel
