English Premier League top flight Everton have beaten Kenya Premier League side Gor Mahia 2-1 in pre-season friendly played in Tanzania.

Wayne Rooney marked his Everton debut at the 35 minute before and equaliser from Jacques Tuyisenge at the 37 minute.

The goal refreshed memories of Rooney's famous first goal for the Toffees first time around - when he slotted in against Arsenal.

The Toffees took the lead at second half, following a goal at the 82 minute from Kieran Dowell, which sent Gor Mahia back to Nairobi.

And in his first start since his long awaited return he smashed a 30-yard stunner into the top corner.
