Raila's message to Citizen TV journalists involved in Kibera plane crash

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has expressed his message of sympathy and quick recovery to Royal Media Services, Citizen TV journalists who were earlier on involved in a plane crash.

“On behalf of the National Super Alliance and myself, I extend deep sympathy, best wishes and prayers for quick recovery to the journalists from the Royal Media Services who sustained injuries today when their plane crashed shortly after taking off to Baringo from Nairobi,” read a statement from Raila.

“This tragedy reminds us of the sacrifices journalists face daily in their quest to keep our citizens informed, an effort we sometimes take for granted until an incident like today’s happens,” he said.

Raila went on to thank the God for his protection, praying for their quick recovery.

“It is my hope and prayer that we will see Oduor, Ogina and Njane back on the campaign trail before Election Day,” said the NASA presidential candidate.

NASA in Baringo

The accident happened when Mauritius Oduor(Cameraman), Sam Ogina(Citizen TV reporter) and Joseph Njane(Radio Citizen reporter) were on their way to cover the NASA rallies in Baringo.

The plane crushed near the National Housing Corporation Houses along the Southern Bypass in Kibera.

The trio sustained injuries and were taken to Nairobi West Hospital where they are now recuperating.
