Rivalry between Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and the Jubilee government took a centre stage yesterday in Deputy Presidents' visit at the coast.

Earlier on, Joho had dared the Deputy President to show up in his turf, if he is man enough, Ruto arrived at the coast with a detailed message to him.

Mr. Ruto faulted Joho of illiteracy, saying that if he had gone to school, he would not be thinking the way he does.

This comes even after the governor had accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration for trying to rob the County off its revenue by moving the Mombasa port services to a dry port in Naivasha.

Ruto asked Joho to go back to go back to school and get access to free education.

“Your governor claims that the Jubilee government wants to relocate the port of Mombasa to Naivasha. I want to ask you, how possible is it to transfer a port to a place that does not even have water? This is as a result of someone with little education. I am asking Governor Joho to go back to school because education is now free,” Ruto said.

The Deputy President was accompanied by Tourism Cabinet secretary Najib Balala, who echoed his sentiments about the governor going back to school.
