Three killed by al Shabaab militia in a deadly attack in Lamu

Three people have been confirmed dead on morning of Friday, August 18, following an attack by al Shabaab militia in Malel village in Lamu.

Lamu County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo has confirmed the attack and the death saying that the three were murdered in cold blood and beheaded.The attackers also burnt down several houses to ashes.

According to Kitiyo security apparatus have been deployed in the area and a manhunt has been launched to persue the terrorists who fled into the large Boni forest after the heinous act.

This comes barely two days after suspected al Shabaab militia killed five police officers at Alijize area on the Bodhai-Ijara Road in Garissa.

The officers were on a security patrol when their vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device planted in the soil killing the five officers on the spot and badly injured two of them.
