First Mayor of Nairobi city Charles Wanyoike Rubia has died
at the age of 94 years.
According to his family, Mr. Rubia passed away in his sleep,
after complaining of breathing problems.
Veteran politician has left behind four sons, 20 years after
the death of his wife. Two of his children also passed away.
Rubia died at his home in Karen and his body is yet to be
taken to Lee Funeral home.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of condolence
and comfort to the family, friends and relatives of the veteran politician.
The President eulogised the former Minister as an icon of
Kenya’s vibrant multi-party democracy.
